Feedback from Guests & Caregivers
|
Guests and Caregivers often times will write us after they leave and let us know how they are doing and what staying at Hospitality Apartments meant to them. Below are just a few of the responses we have gotten.

From Marilyn & Bo (2008)
"I was a stranger and you invited me in."
Matthew 25:35
This verse struck me as a great definition of "hospitality," one that's
personified by our friends who keep Hospitality Apartments going.
When Marilyn's third cancer evolved into acute myeloid leukemia, our
doctors at M.D. Anderson recommended a stem cell transplant as the
treatment of choice. Immediately following the shock of this new
diagnosis came the realization that over 100 days of Houston
residence would be required. "How on earth can we afford this in
addition to already looming medical bills?" That's a question many
hundreds of others in our situation have asked. You solved this
problem for us, just as you have for so many before us.
If would have been very difficult for us to have taken advantage of this
miracle treatment without your help. And I personally know of others
who can say the same. The fine physicians at Texas Medical Center
can't save those who cannot remain in Houston for treatment.
I hope you realize how many lives you have saved. Thanks.
From Ken & Yolanda (2008)
"Thank You" are such small words, yet they are the best I can find right
now. Thank you so much for your gift of love. Providing this safe haven
for us during this difficult trial helped so much, in so many more ways
than just financial. May God continue to bless you all ... Again, thank
you and God bless you.
From Garrett & Family (2008)
Words alone cannot even begin to express our gratitude for the
tremendous aid you have provided to our family during a difficult time.
We, like so many before us and so many to come, are so very grateful
for the kindness, words of encouragement, and positive attitudes you
have demonstrated in these past few months. You truly exemplify
Christ in your actions, and we want to say thank you to each and every
one of you who enable the apartments to exist. Your examples of
servant hood reinforce Hope in a troubled world! II Corinthians 5:20
states:
"we are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God
were making his appeal through us."
We have witnessed some of Christ's Ambassadors!!! We are
blessed to have been surrounded by so many wonderful Christians,
striving to serve our Lord in so many ways. May God richly bless
each of you as you continue to serve Him. It is our hope that you may
continue to receive strength from our Lord to assist you in all that you
do. Colossians 3:23-24 states:
"whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working
for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will
receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the
Lord Christ you are serving."
Thank you for touching our lives in such a magnificent way! Please
share our sincere thanks and gratitude with others who are so vital in
the ministry of the Hospitality Apartments.
From Aliana & Alyssa (2009)
Dear Staff, Volunteers and Friends at Hospitality Apartments,
As Alyssa and I prepare to move this week, we want to be sure to
express how very grateful we are to all of you.
Your extraordinary kindness and selfless giving have provided us with
a "home away from home" these three months. Further, you have
helped our family tremendously in being able to afford our time in
Houston so Alyssa could receive the medical care she needed. God
bless you all.
From Frank & Kay (2008)
We just want you to know what a blessing each of you has been to us
during our stay. You have been so kind, generous and hospitable.
We have certainly felt like guests!
You seem to have thought of everything to make our apartment
comfortable, which in turn has made a difficult situation bearable.
Because of the provision of this apartment, Frank was able to
receive all his cancer treatment here at M. D. Anderson, which we
believed to be the best and which has proved to be successful for
him. Such a wonderful ministry! For which we will be forever thankful.
We ask the Lord to return to each of you the blessings you have
given - in your work, patience, help and kind words to us. May He
richly bless!

BROKEN DOWN PRAYER
written by Jose
They told me wut dont kill me will only make me stronger
So I looked up n asked God 2 help me fight longer
2 try n break me askin how long will this last
I lok at my famly n look at my past
Try 2 gather sum strength from the times when we laughed
Ive shed down sum tearz n I won't deny
But hey itz OK - name a man that don't cry
Look up 2 the heavenz ask to bless my day
N protect my familia where 2 sleep they lay
So many things send my life in a blur
Itz a test of faith of that now im sure ...
Eh looking back at these short 23 yrs
Has brought a new meaning 2 my description of tearz
I cry not of pain n I cry not of fear
I cry of pure faith that God has planz for me here
If this is my time n the Lord should come callin
Im a answer that door sit wit Him n start talking
But im sure itz not time he has a lot of more planned
But if not im just saying I don't consider it damed
I drew up my strength so I could fight longer
Cuz if thiz don't kill me it will make me stronger
In God I have faith 2 spend the rest of my days
Thatz why I asked for forgivness thru my broken down prayer.

"Commit your way to the LORD and put all your trust in him, and he will bring it to pass."
Psalm 37:5
